Italian poppy COLIBRÌ ROSA CHIARO

Colibrì Rosa Chiaro is an exclusive, refined Italian  poppy from Biancheri Creazioni with tissue-light petals in a gentle, light pink tone. The flowers are elegant, airy and have a nice play between creamy and pink shades depending on the light and temperature. The variety is excellent both in the garden and as a cut flower.

Cultivation advice

Sowing time: Late winter–early spring (indoors). So superficially — don't cover the seed (it germinates in light). Keep the seedbed evenly moist but never wet.

Germination temperature: 10–15°C (cool is better than hot).

Expected germination time: approximately 7–21 days (sometimes longer).

Light: Lots of light after germination

Temperature: Cool after emergence (12–16°C gives best quality)

Planting outdoors: When the risk of hard frost is over

Distance: approx. 25–30 cm

Location: Sun to light partial shade, well-drained soil

Flowering: Early summer (when sown in spring) / early season when overwintered

For cuts

Harvest when the bud is just starting to show color and feels “softly springy.” Quickly scald the cut surface in hot water for best shelf life.
